“In every port in the world, at least two Estonians can be found.” — Ernest Hemingway

After an amazing December spent exploring the vastness of Rwanda and Kenya, I’m happy to announce I’ll be moving to Tallinn, Estonia to begin an incredible adventure working at Funderbeam. As this may come as a shock to some, those who know me in the slightest should now be beginning to nod their heads as this news is starting to make a lot of sense. For quite a long time I’ve been working towards blending my career aspirations with my personal desire to experience Europe on a more permanent basis. Now, I’m happy to say my worlds of patience, determination, hard work, support and a little luck have all aligned in awesome harmony. Also, Jobbatical.com played a major role as well.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to begin this journey, but I can tell you a bit about my new employer and they’re pretty cool.

Funderbeam at its core helps angel investors and entrepreneurs, discover, benchmark and analyse startups at a low cost. But soon we’ll launch world’s first startup marketplace. It combines startup data with investing and liquidity. Clear data on startups, angels, and VCs worldwide. Syndicates led by investors you trust and backed by passionate followers and secure trading powered by the blockchain.

If you want to know more just message me directly or visit the website and register your email for prelaunch updates and early access. Also, you can follow Funderbeam on LinkedIn or on Medium. But besides being on the cutting edge of the global financial services sector, why work in Estonia? Well…

I think that about sums it up from a professional perspective.

Huge thanks to all of you who have helped me along the way. My philosophy is that everyone from the barista I spoke to one month ago, to my most intimate mentors and mentees have played a role in my development as a human and professional. To all of you who have interacted with me during my short stint on this planet, I thank you for helping guide me to this point.

I also wanted to dedicate this life moment and the forthcoming effort and energy I’m about to unleash onto this role to two friends who passed away far too soon.

To Purmort: Your constant flow of positivity and creativity have always been a source of inspiration for me. Now, your wife is keepin that spirit alive. I’m so blessed to know you both and without y’all I wouldn’t have the belief I have in myself or others. Thanks!

To Kevin: Lust for life and adventure was your modus operandi and I am merely a student of your gospel. You carved a life for yourself in Sweden through sheer willpower and you’ll always be my source of energy from which to draw from. Love you buddy!

Final Note: Cancer touches us all at one point in our life so share something or do something helpful for the cause. Like… Maybe, be really nice and join the registry at Be The Match!

Thanks again and then one more time.

Sorry, had to post one more video just in case you weren’t convinced about how cool Estonia is.
